Objectives and skills

  • Biosystems Engineering is a new area of knowledge that arose due to the technological evolution of the processes of agro-livestock production. Presently, the specialization in the agro-business production system is determined not only by the natural potential of a given region, but, to a large extent, by the aggregation of technology in production.
  • Prepare bachelor professionals with a solid profile in technology and with basic knowledge in systems and the production chain. Its training will cover themes applied to animal and plant production, related to the technologies of automation, information and support to the food chain.
  • Design systems that favor a sustained production of food, fiber and energy through the use of innovative technologies, contributing to bioenergy development;
  • Precision agriculture;
  • Watering, constructions and equipment;
  • Biophysics and ecological systems.

Career oportunities

  • The bachelor in Biosystems Engineering may perform functions in companies associated with the production, storage, logistics, transformation, distribution and commercialization of food, namely:
    • Marketing of equipment and technologies to support the food chain;
    • Project offices;
    • Consulting and service provider;
    • Agricultural, forestry, zootechnical and agri-food producers associations;
    • Local and regional development associations;
    • State organizations;
    • Research, experimentation and development.
