Objectives and skills
Manipulate and use, autonomously or under guidance, geospatial tools, technologies and methodologies to support agriculture integrated with techniques of spatial analysis, to support decision making and production optimization, namely, to plan and define competitive strategies in agrarian activities; design, promote and manage GIS to ensure the geo-referencing of company / farm information; manage and supervise epidemiological surveillance systems; produce, edit and update digital cartography and cadastre of rustic properties; integrate in a GIS, remote sensing, GPS, CAD, automatic mapping and management facilities; and develop multimedia systems on the basis of cartography for web availability.
Main activities
- Implement solutions in problem resolution with the use of mathematical and physical computational tools;
- Plan and define competitive strategies to allow productivity improvement and quality of the activities inherent to agriculture, enhancing activities planning and production costs optimization;
- Plan and carry out georeferenced geological, geomorphological, forestry, agricultural and animal surveys with GPS, photointerpretation, sensors and biosensors according to the companies / farms needs;
- Produce, edit and update digital cartography and cadastre of rustic properties;
- Model, implement, manage and update geographical databases;
- Design, promote and manage GIS to ensure the georeferentiation of the company / farm information and the modeling of agroforestry resources to support decision making and sustainable agriculture;
- Integrate in GIS remote sensing, GPS, CAD, automatic mapping and management features associated with analysis and decision support techniques;
- Create and support GIS, including the realization and automation of spatial analysis processes to support decision making;
- Manage and supervise epidemiological surveillance systems using geospatial data;
- Develop multimedia systems on a cartographic basis, with its own interface to make them web available;
